KMUTNB Signs the SUN Thailand’s Declaration of Intention to the Sustainable development

On 13 November 2024, at the United Nations Building in Bangkok, members of the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand) signed a Declaration of Intent to support sustainable development. This network of Thai universities plays a vital role in producing and developing human resources in line with the United Nations' SDG Leadership framework.

Representing King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) at the signing ceremony were Asst. Prof. Dr. Krissachai Sriboonma, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Development for Sustainability, who also serves as the Chairman of the Thailand Sustainable University Network; Prof. Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn, Vice President for Research and Information Technology Development and Chairman of the Committee for Research and Innovation (CUPT); and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Makaratat, Assistant to the President for Environmental and Physical Development.

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished witnesses, including Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand; Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation; and Prof. Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, Chair of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT).

The declaration highlights the collective commitment of SUN Thailand's member universities to promote human resource development policies that address pressing challenges in social, environmental, and economic sustainability. More than 300 participants attended the prestigious event, including university executives, faculty members, staff, and students from 59 member universities of SUN Thailand that signed the declaration.
