KMUTNB, BYD, and FXB Establish MoU Partnership for Advancement in Electric Vehicle and Automation Systems

On 23 April 2024, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Suchart Siengchin, President of KMUTNB, represented the university in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BYD CO., LTD., and FXB CO., LTD. The signing ceremony, held at BYD's headquarters in Shenzhen, China, was attended by Mr. Xun Meng, Deputy General Manager of BYD Human Resources Division, and Mr. Wang Yubiao, CEO of FXB Co., Ltd., alongside KMUTNB's executive team, including Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, Chairman of KMUTNB Council Committee, Dr. Somyos Keratichewanun, Member of KMUTNB Council Committee, Asst. Prof. Preecha Ong-aree, Director of KMUTNB Techno Park, Prof. Dr. Saowanit Sukparungsee, Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with distinguished representatives from both companies.

The MoU formalizes collaboration on human resource development and research within the electric vehicle and renewable energy industries. This partnership aims to advance technology and facilitate the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and technology among the three parties. It also establishes the Center of Excellence in Electric Vehicle and Automation Systems, which will provide training programs for students and staff from public and private universities and technical colleges across Thailand.

Additionally, the partnership will provide consultancy and training for engineers and technicians at BYD CO., LTD.'s maintenance service centers in Thailand, enhancing their competence and enabling them to deliver quality service to customers. The collaboration also focuses on Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE), offering students internships at the Center of Excellence in Electric Vehicle and Automation Systems, KMUTNB, as well as at FXB CO., LTD. and BYD CO., LTD. factories. These internships will equip students with practical skills and experience for their future careers.

Furthermore, the partnership will prioritize curriculum development in Bachelor of Technology programs related to Next Generation Automotive and Automation System Technology, with plans to expand this collaboration to other higher education institutes partnered with BYD CO., LTD. and FXB CO., LTD. in China.
