KMUTNB and Kyushu Institute of Technology Strengthen Academic Ties through the Student Mobility Exchange Program (SMEP) 2026
King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) hosted students and delegates from Kyushu Institute of Technology for the Student Mobility Exchange Program (SMEP) 2026, a five-day academic and cultural exchange aimed at strengthening international collaboration and enriching student learning experiences. The program officially opened on 10 March 2026 with welcoming remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong, Vice President for International Affairs.
The SMEP 2026 program was designed to promote both academic development and cross-cultural understanding among participants. Throughout the five-day program, students from both universities participated in interactive workshops and cultural exchange activities. These included Batik drawing, Muay Thai classes, a clay ceramic workshop, Thai spicy salad cooking, and a cultural excursion to Ayutthaya Historical City. The activities were carefully planned to encourage creativity, collaboration, and cultural appreciation while helping students build new skills and broaden their global perspectives.
Over the past decade, KMUTNB and Kyutech have developed a close and meaningful collaboration, particularly in the area of student mobility and academic exchange. The SMEP 2026 program once again highlighted the growing international cooperation between KMUTNB and Kyushu Institute of Technology, reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering global learning opportunities for students.
