KMUTNB Student and Professor Win Awards at the 50th Geneva International Invention Exhibition

The innovations by KMUTNB lecturer and student won awards at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva which was held at Geneva, Switzerland, during 9 – 13 April 2025. Mr. Thanaphon Vansanit, a master’s student from the Faculty of Business Administration, won a silver medal and a special award from a Saudi Arabian representative for his innovation, the “Hypoplus Pen,” which transforms saline solution into disinfectant. Meanwhile, “TANNINNOV,” developed by Prof. Dr. Chantaraporn Phalakornkule from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, earned a bronze medal and the Distinguished Innovation Award from King Abdulaziz University. This eco-friendly innovation was produced from wastewater of the palm oil extraction process, and it can be developed to multipurpose products.

The event, hosted by PALEXPO SA and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), was supported by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Over 120 innovations from Thailand were submitted this year along with innovations from 40 countries across the word. Distinguished Thai representatives at the event included H.E. Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, H.E. Ms. Pannabha Chandraramya, Ambassador to Switzerland, Ms. Usana Peeranon, Permanent Representative of Thailand, and Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Director of the National Research Council of Thailand.
