KMUTNB and VKU Collaborate to Organize the Hackathon for the Digital Tourism and Agro Innovation

During 8 – 14 October 2023, International Cooperation Centre, together with Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry, Faculty of Digital Agro-Industry and Faculty of Industrial Technology and Management, cooperated with University of Danang - Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, Vietnam, to host the "2023 KMUTNB-VKU Digital Tourism & Agro Innovation Hackathon” at KMUTNB Prachinburi Campus, Nakhon Nayok Province and Bangkok. This program is one among many activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of KMUTNB, and it is a part of a growing and productive partnership between our two universities that has been established by the MoU signing this year.

On 9 October 2023, the opening ceremony of the program was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Peerapong Pornwongthong, Assistant to the President for Innovation Research and Development, while the VKU side was represented by Dr. Le Phuoc Cuu Long, Dr. Nguyen Vu Anh Quang, Dr. Dang Dai Tho, Dr. Nguyen Huu Nhat Minh, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Dr. Le ThiMinh Duc and Ms. Nguyen Ha Phuong. The objective of this hackathon is to enable the participants to explore and brainstorm the innovative ideas to enhance local agro-tourism in Prachinburi Campus by adopting technology to create impressive experiences for tourists. During the program, the participants are provided with an opportunity for cross-cultural. Also, the participants made an excursion to interesting places, such as Khundan Dam, Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital and Wat Pho, where they could get an insight into the irrigation system management of Thailand, the heritage of Thai traditional medicine and the uniqueness of Thai arts and architecture. 

On 12 October 2023, the pitching activity and closing ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Supeeti Kulchan, Associate Dean for Corporate Communications and Industrial Relations, while the report on the outcome of the program was delivered by Ms. Phimvalanch Moosikaphan, Director of International Cooperation Centre. KMUTNB and VKU are the very proactive academic partner with a strong determination to develop academic collaborations. In spite of the fact that the two universities have just signed the first MoU on 31 July 2023, they have already carried out many productive cooperative activities within a short period of time. For instance, the visit of the team of lecturers from Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation to VKU during 29 - 31 July 2023. The arrangement of workshop for VKU students and the visit of the team of lecturers from Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation and Faculty of Business Administration and Service Industry to VKU during 23 - 26 August 2023.
