Delegation form the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Explores Cooperation with KMUTNB
On 4 December 2025, at the Ratchaphruek Meeting Room, Navamindra Rajini Building, a delegation from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France had a meeting with representatives from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) to discuss ongoing and future cooperative activities between KMUTNB and France. The French delegation, led by Ms. Valérie Brisset, Deputy Director for Cultural Diplomacy at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Lise Talbot Barre, Culture & Cooperation Counsellor at the French Embassy in Thailand, was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong, Vice President for International Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Somrerk Chandra-ambhorn, Vice President for Research. Following the meeting, the French delegates visited the Thai-French Innovation Institute (TFII) laboratories, where they were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanwit Tangsiriworakul, Assistant Director for Industrial Relations and Training at TFII, alongside the TFII executive team.
The longstanding partnership between KMUTNB and France began with the establishment of the Thai-French Innovation Institute in 1990, a joint effort between the French and Thai governments. Since then, the collaboration has grown significantly, encompassing a variety of initiatives, such as the creation of the Electrical Engineering-Thai French Research Center, partnerships with Université de Lorraine to offer a Double Ph.D. Degree Programme in Electrical and Energy Engineering, and numerous student mobility programs with French academic institutions. This visit served as a great opportunity to evaluate the current cooperation and explore potential areas for further academic and research exchanges between the two countries.
