KMUTNB Delegates Visit Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), China
On 21 November 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dr.-Ing Sunantha Sodsee, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Siranee Nuchitprasitchai, Chair of Bachelor of Science Program in Informatics for Digital Economy (International Program), visited Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST), China, to explore future academic collaboration between our institutions. The KMUTNB delegates had the fruitful cooperation meeting with the team of ZUST executive, led by Prof. Dr. Hou Beiping, Vice-President of ZUST, and Prof. Dr. Fei Zhengshun, Vice-Dean of School of Automation and Electrical Engineering. They exchanged views on opportunities for joint academic activities, student exchange, research collaboration and student mobility.
During this visit, the KMUTNB delegates also explore a series of world-class laboratories that integrate robotics, automation, and industry-ready STEM training. The following laboratories highlights ZUST’s strong academic–industry partnerships and its commitment to developing future engineering talent.
1. ZUST–ABB Robotics Laboratory
A high-performance training and research facility equipped with ABB industrial robotic arms. The lab is designed for hands-on programming, robotic motion control, and automation system integration—bridging academic learning with real industrial applications.
2. Chinesisch-Deutsches Institut für Robotertechnologie
A China–Germany collaborative robotics institute that focuses on advanced robotic technology, mechatronics, human–robot interaction, and international engineering training. This lab exemplifies global cooperation in engineering education and innovation.
3. Robotics Innovation and Practice Center
A multidisciplinary center where students engage in applied research, prototyping, and robotics competitions. The facility supports creativity, teamwork, and innovation by providing access to modern tools, simulation systems, and collaborative project spaces.
4. ABB Robotics Authorized STEM Education & Training Center
A certified STEM center offering specialized training aligned with ABB’s global standards. Students receive professional-level experience in robot programming, automation workflows, and safety systems—preparing them for real-world engineering careers.
5. SIMATIC Automation Technology Joint Laboratory
A joint lab powered by Siemens SIMATIC technology. It provides hands-on experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, digital control systems, and smart manufacturing solutions, supporting Industry 4.0 capability development.
