King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok to celebrate 66th anniversary
On 19 February 2025, several events took place to commemorate the KMUTNB's founding in 1959. To mark 66 years of education and research, the Founding Anniversary Day 2025 “KMUTNB's 66th Anniversary: An Innovative Leader Embracing Strengths for Thai Economic Growth” commenced with the merit making ceremony and the wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the monument of the KMUTNB’s two founders, Prof. Dr. Boonyasak Jaijongkit and Dip. Ing. Karl Stützle. In the afternoon, the outstanding alumni award ceremony was held to recognize the remarkable achievements and careers of KMUTNB alumni who has dedicatedly made meritorious contributions to the university, community, society, and the nation at large.
The highlight of the celebration was the evening session which was presided over by H.E. Air Chief Marshal Chalit Pukbhasuk, Privy Councillor. Prof. Dr. Thanin Silpcharu, Acting President, delivered welcome remarks to the distinguished guests and attendees, expressing his deep gratitude to staff, students, alumni, partners and involved parties for their contributions to the development of KMUTNB in different ways and emphasizing the university’s commitment to service to Thailand and to the greater community. Mr. Hans-Ulrich Sudbeck, Minister of German Embassy in Bangkok, also represented the German Embassy to deliver congratulatory remarks, while Dr. Ludovic Andres, Attaché of French Embassy in Bangkok, delivered congratulatory remarks on behalf of the French Embassy. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, Chairman of KMUNB Council Committee, distinguished members of the University Council Committee, executives, faculty members, alumni, students and KMUTNB partners. In the evening, the awards were presented to recognize achievements in different categories; namely, KMUTNB’s 2025 honor awards, appointed academic title for professors, students or staff with international achievement, and outstanding staff.
