"Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering Partners with IIT-Madras for Academic Collaboration"

On 11 September 2023, Consul General Nitirooge Phoneprasert was present for the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS),King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), represented by Prof. Dr. -Ing. Nisai Fuengwarodsakul, Dean of TGGS, and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), represented by Prof. Raghunathan Rengaswamy, Dean of Global Engagements. The signing took place at the IIT-M campus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.


This MoU, initiated by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chennai, aims to foster educational collaborations between academic institutions in Thailand and Tamil Nadu, a renowned region in India known for its esteemed colleges and universities, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and engineering. This agreement paves the way for expanded cooperation in academic and research endeavors, encompassing student and faculty exchanges, the sharing of academic and scholarly information, publication collaborations, as well as the organization of joint seminars, workshops, and academic meetings. Notably, IIT-M holds the distinction of being ranked as the top engineering institute in India under the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
