The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Thailand Visited KMUTNB

On 26 March 2021, at Ratchapruek Room, NavamindraRajini Building, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Suchart Siengchin, KMUTNB President, Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs and the team of KMUTNB’s executives, and the Bhutanese students, warmly welcomed H.E. Mr. Tshewang C. Dorji, the Ambassador of Bhutan to the Kingdom of Thailand.  The Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand, Mr. Kalden Dorji, Counsellor of Royal Bhutanese Embassy to Thailand, Mr. Sonam Tobgay, Second Secretary of Royal Bhutanese Embassy to Thailand, paid an official visit to KMUTNB to have a meeting with the KMUTNB’s executives’ team on the collaboration opportunity between KMUTNB and Bhutan in different areas, especially in the area of Space Technology. The Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand expressed his keen interest to initiate and develop the academic cooperation in Space Technology. After having the fruitful discussion in the meeting, KMUTNB granted scholarships both in graduate and undergraduate levels to the Bhutanese students in order to promote the academic collaborations between two nations and to sustainably develop human resources in Space Technology.  The scholarships provision includes six scholarships both in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in Space Technology, and six scholarships in bachelor’s degrees in different fields. In this occasion, the deans and associate deans of the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation, International College, Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering, also attended the meeting and presented the curriculums of the international programs to the delegation from the Bhutanese Embassy. In particular, Dr. Phongsathorn Saisujarit, Acting Director of International Institute of Space Technology for Economic Development, KMUTNB, also attended the meeting and presented the progress of the institute to the Bhutanese Ambassador.
