KMUTNB Welcomes Royal Thai Consulate General and SRM Institute, Explores Deeper Academic Ties with India

On 26 August 2025, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) extended a warm welcome to a distinguished delegation from the Royal Thai Consulate General in Chennai, led by Mr. Racha Aribarg, Consul-General, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchitra M., School of Computer Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong, Vice President for International Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks on behalf of KMUTNB, expressing a continued commitment of KMUTNB to strengthening Thai-Indian academic collaboration. The representatives from KMUTNB’s faculties also presented at the cooperation meeting led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dr. -Ing. Sunantha Sodsee, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation, Asst. Prof. Tapanee Treeratanaporn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ampol Likitchatchawankun, Assistant Dean for International Collaborations and Student Affairs, The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS).

Over recent years, the cooperation between KMUTNB and Indian partner institutions has grown significantly. KMUTNB currently hosts more than six international staff and fifteen PhD and postdoctoral students from India. In the near future, KMUTNB will host an international conference on Surface Engineering of Sustainable Materials and Bio Materials in partnership with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Madras and IIT Delhi. This achievement will mark another milestone in KMUTNB's ongoing efforts to foster international academic engagement and reflect the university’s dedication to building lasting partnerships in the region.
