KMUTNB to Host the 80th IIW Annual Assembly and International Conference in 2027

21 October 2025, Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, Chairman of KMUTNB Council Committee, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banglang Sornil, President of the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT) and Former KMUTNB President, warmly welcomed Dr. Luca Costa, CEO of the International Institute of Welding (IIW). During this visit, Dr. Luca Costa, CEO of IIW, had the cooperation meeting with the team of WIT executive to discuss the progress of ongoing cooperative activities, especially the organizing of the upcoming 80th International Institute of Welding (IIW) Annual Assembly and International Conference in 2027. The cooperation meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong, Vice President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Panarit Sethakul, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT), together with members of the WIT’s Advisory Board Committee and KMUTNB faculty member.

Since the establishment of WIT in 2002, which became the sole Authorized Nominated Body (ANB) of IIW in Thailand, the institute has played a pivotal role in advancing the quality and professional standards of the welding industry across the nation. The organizing of this prestigious annual conference and assembly will be a significant milestone for Thailand's welding industry (WIT). This will contribute to strengthening the longstanding and fruitful relationship between the two organizations. Also, the event will mark a new chapter in Thailand's growing prominence within the global welding community.
