On 26 May 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichet Sriyanyong extended a warm welcome to Dr. Guido Wimmers, Dean of the School of Construction and Environment, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), during his visit to Thailand. Dr. Wimmers, who leads BCIT's efforts in sustainable construction and advanced building technologies, visited KMUTNB to explore academic and research collaboration opportunities.

As part of his visit, Dr. Wimmers also toured the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT), where he was welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Panarit Sethakul, Acting CEO of WIT and advisor for academic and international affairs at the Faculty of Technical Education. Their discussions centered around potential partnerships in curriculum development, student and faculty exchange programs, and applied research projects with a strong emphasis on industry engagement.

This visit emphasized shared interests of the two institutions in fostering innovation, sustainability, and cross-border academic cooperation between Canada and Thailand.
