A Truly Unforgettable Journey to Qingdao, China

From April 20–27, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) along with fellow students from the Bachelor of Science Program in Informatics for Digital Economy (International Program), KMUTNB.

Together, we—

—explored QUST’s modern and vibrant campus, where cherry blossoms were in full bloom and students zipped around on electric scooters. We had the opportunity to present our own tech projects and exchange ideas with QUST master’s students, who offered insightful feedback and engaged in meaningful dialogue.

Throughout the week, we dove into immersive, hands-on workshops that expanded our skills in areas like artificial intelligence, 3D reconstruction using COLMAP and MeshLab, and medical image segmentation with cutting-edge tools like Meta AI’s “Segment Anything.” One highlight was learning how to assemble and operate drones—gaining first-hand experience in low-altitude flight technology that’s already being used in China for delivery, security, and infrastructure inspection.

But beyond the technical knowledge, what made this journey truly special was the human connection. We were deeply inspired by the brilliance, drive, and humility of the QUST students—some of whom had already won national innovation awards and led research clubs, all while remaining incredibly kind and down-to-earth. We shared meals, laughed together, exchanged cultures, and built friendships that we’ll cherish for life.

This trip didn’t just enhance our academic perspective—it reshaped how we see ourselves and what we’re capable of becoming. We return home with new skills, a broader worldview, and the motivation to push our own boundaries even further.
