Students of Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation's Visit Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), China

From 20 – 27 April 2025, the 11 selected students from the Bachelor of Science Program in Informatics for Digital Economy (International Program), Faculty of Information Technology and Digital Innovation had the incredible opportunity to visit Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), China. The KMUTNB students explored QUST’s modern and vibrant campus, and they had the opportunity to present their own tech projects and exchange ideas with QUST master’s students, who offered insightful feedback and engaged in meaningful dialogue.

Throughout the week, the students dove into immersive, hands-on workshops that expanded their skills in areas like artificial intelligence, 3D reconstruction using COLMAP and MeshLab, and medical image segmentation with cutting-edge tools like Meta AI’s “Segment Anything.” One highlight was learning how to assemble and operate drones—gaining first-hand experience in low-altitude flight technology that’s already being used in China for delivery, security, and infrastructure inspection.

But beyond the technical knowledge, what made this journey truly special was the human connection. The students were deeply inspired by the brilliance, drive, and humility of the QUST students—some of whom had already won national innovation awards and led research clubs, all while remaining incredibly kind and down-to-earth. They shared meals, laughed together, exchanged cultures, and built friendships that we’ll cherish for life.

This trip didn’t just enhance their academic perspective—it reshaped how they see themselves and what they’re capable of becoming. They return home with new skills, a broader worldview, and the motivation to push our own boundaries even further.
